Flu can be a very serious illness and the vaccine is highly recommended for patients who are:
- aged 65 years and over
- pregnant women
- pre-school children aged 2 years or more
- primary school children
- aged 6 months or over with heart, lung, kidney, liver, neurological disease, diabetes, impaired immunity
- in receipt of a carer’s allowance or the main carer, or the carer of an elderly or disabled person
Last year the majority of our patients who require the flu vaccine were vaccinated at a Saturday flu clinic in October. The Practice received positive feedback from patients and as a result this year's flu clinic will be held on Saturday 21 October 2017.
Invite letters or text messages will be sent to eligible patients during September and October. Primary school children are vaccinated at school.
